Our Major Focus

We provide primary education to refugee children and those in host communities. This is
accomplished through the construction of schools and training refugees to become qualified
teachers, ensuring that children have access to quality education from the outset of their
academic journey.

Why Our Education Approach is Effective and Unique

Our educational approach is effective because it is holistic in nature. We equip our pupils with
practical skills and experiential learning opportunities. We believe that true education empowers students not only with knowledge but also with the ability to shape their own futures. By providing opportunities for creativity and allowing students to discover their strengths, we help them develop essential skills for success.

Key Activities Carried Out at Youth Initiative Primary School

Youth Initiative Primary School embraces the power of practical skills, recognizing that true education equips students not only with knowledge but with the tools to shape their own futures.

Education:

Youth Initiative Primary School offers formal education to refugee children and members of the host community. Our teaching strategy is innovative and inclusive; we integrate play-based learning in our classrooms to equip learners from Primary 1 to Primary 3 with skills aimed at fostering creativity, social interaction, and a positive attitude towards learning.

  • Attendance and Enrollment: We track the number of students enrolled and
attending classes regularly through the use of KoboCollect.
  • Academic Performance: We measure improvements in student academic
performance through regular assessments, internal and external examinations, and
teaching at the right level (TaRL).

Leadership growth among learners

We highly encourage our learners to take on leadership roles at school. Effective leaders create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment where students feel valued and supported. These leadership roles enhance student engagement, motivation, and overall well-being, leading to improved academic and social outcomes.
