YIDA with Gender Based Violence

Youth Initiative Development in Africa (YIDA) Identifies children who are being exposed to all forms of Gender Based Violence -GBV (physical, emotional, neglect and sexual abuse) it refers them to respective agencies to receive the required services such as medical, legal and psychosocial support to enable them recover from the difficulties they have gone through. YIDAalso follows-up on the cases it refers to different organisations to ensure that the survivors receive the required service.

YIDA has moved a step of training all its employees on gender based violence, safeguarding and the organisation’s code of conduct which has enhanced their knowledge and skills on how to prevent, report and respond to an abuse exposed to the children, more so the skills acquired during the training has enabled the staff to create awareness on the negative impacts of GBV more especially during this period of COVID-19 pandemic.
